Porto elected 'European Best Destinations 2014'

The 'European Consumers Choice' elected Porto as the 'Best European Destination 2014'. This city had received the same award in 2012.

With this distinction, Porto wins ahead of 19 other destinations in competition. In the Top 5, were cities such as Zagreb, Vienna, Nicosia and Budapest.

In relation to what the city has to offer, some aspects were identified as architecture, gastronomy, culture or trade and highlighted are the Stock Exchange, Fundação and Serralves museum as must-see sites.

In 2013, Porto was also elected as the best of the ten ideal holiday destinations in Europe, a distinction promoted by the Lonely Planet. Also this year, Porto won the second prize on the awards Travelers Choice, awarded by Trip Advisor.
