For Arabesques, Cabrioles and a wide-range of steps, check out the Ballet Teatro Contemporâneo do Porto, a dance school that gives performances by national and international ballerinas and danseurs, as well as workshops for those with limber limbs and gifted toes.

The Teatro Nacional São João puts on a variety of dance events, from the classical to the very modern. In November, the International Dance-Video Festival arrives in Porto. It’s a festival created by the Fábrica de Movimentos, a non-profit cultural association in Porto promoting the performing arts. This particular event combines video with live dance. And for those of you wanting to strut your stuff on the dance floor, take a gander at the ‘Going Out’ section for a list of local clubs.
