Casa do Infante is comprised of various buildings that were originally built to house the Crown services in Porto: the Customs, the Mint and the Treasury.

The Figure of Infante D.Henrique “the Navigator” has helped to lend prestige to this monument, as this was his place of birth.

You'll find collections here showing you the work of the Customs House and the Mint and there are items belonging to the municipal reserves, or which were discovered during the archaeological excavations of Casa do Infante or other places in Porto.

This location has undergone works at various times, and is now comprised of the Museum, Arquivo Histórico Municipal (Municipal Historic Archives), Biblioteca de Assuntos Portuenses (Library on Porto Affairs) Sala Memória (Memory Hall), an exhibition hall and an auditorium.
