Museu da Farmácia (Pharmacy Museum) has a display of objects which are of rare historic and scientific value covering 500 million years of man's fight to cure illnesses and relieve pain, from a vast range of civilisations and cultures including Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Incas, the Aztecs, Islam, Tibet and China.

The Pharmacy Museum's vast collection makes it the most complete museum on health in the world today, providing information dating back to the very first traces of life on earth to the discovery of DNA.

You will also find a reconstitution of Farmácia Estácio do Porto, an old pharmacy which used to be in Rua Sá da Bandeira, thus representing the heritage of the Portuguese pharmacy, and also the reconstitution of an Islamic Pharmacy, the interior of a palace in Damascus, the Ottoman Empire, dating back to the nineteenth century.

Location: Rua do Engenheiro Ferreira Dias, 728, Porto
Opening Hours: Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and last Saturday of every month from 2 pm to 6 pm.
