Museu dos Transportes e Telecomunicações (Museum of Transport and Telecommunications) is in the historic part of Porto, within one of the most emblematic buildings in the city, the Alfândega Nova do Porto (New Customs House).

This museum was set up in 1992, with the mission of informing the public about the history of different kinds of transport created by man right up to the present day, with exhibits of various objects, documents and information. Of particular note are the permanent exhibitions 'The Automobile in Space and Time', which tells us the history of the automobile since its very beginnings, the first car that was driven in Portugal and the cars of today and 'Communication of Knowledge and Imagination', where you can use your five senses to communicate with a Zeppelin, discovering the different ways of communicating. In 2014, the exhibition 'Communicate' even received an honourable mention at the V Ibero-American Prize for Education and Museums'.

Apart from the permanent exhibitions, the museum also holds temporary exhibitions within the museum and externally and organises activities for families and groups, as well as workshops and practical sessions.
